Tenant Charges (What Tenants Can Be Asked to Pay)
Under the Tenant Fees Act 2019, tenants can only be charged for:
- Rent (as agreed)
- Deposit (capped at 5 weeks’ rent)
- Holding deposit (capped at 1 week’s rent)
- Changes to tenancy (£50 or actual costs if higher)
- Early termination fees (if tenant requests early exit)
- Lost keys/security device charges (reasonable cost)
- Late payment charges (for rent more than 14 days overdue)
Prohibited Charges to Tenants
Tenants CANNOT be charged for:
- Tenancy referencing or credit checks
- Inventory checks or reports
- Administration or processing fees
- Renewal fees
- Viewing fees
- Any other charges not listed above
Client Money Protection
Any deposits or money held by Redbridge Property on behalf of clients is protected in accordance with the law.

Other Client Money
Any other client money held (such as rent collected on your behalf) is held in a separate client account and not mixed with office money. We hold appropriate professional indemnity insurance to protect client funds.
